Police said that three people approached the 30-year-old Maryland man outside of a CVS store at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, near the intersection of Broadway and 40th Street in the city over the weekend looking to sell him drugs while he celebrated his birthday.
When he refused, the suspects smashed a glass bottle on the man’s head, slashed him across his face, and robbed him of cash, according to ABC7. The New York Post reported that a woman was also among the three and propositioned the Maryland man for sex before he was assaulted.
They then fled the scene and the victim was transported to Bellvue Hospital, where he received more than a dozen stitches.
Investigators have not released the name, age, or hometown of the Maryland man who was targeted by the dealers.
No arrests have been announced, according to reports.
